Its amazing, how most parents would say to stay off o
f chats, but never do anything about it. I have had a few run-ins on chats, but never to extreme points like the other kids. I had a friend, who met this guy, and to me, he seemed like a creep. To her, he was a sweet heart. Thats the thing today. Guys like to trick. alot. Just to get what they want. If it were up to me, and unfortuanatly, its not, i would ban all chats that allow people over the age of 18 into chats for TEENS. I lost that friend later that year, because she gave away roo much info. I dont want to be another victim, in a sick game. Do you want your kids to? i also dont want to lose anymore than i have to these perverts... do you?
Thank you.

Top-level comments on this article: (1 total)There's no practical way to ban adults from teen chat (and an argument to be made in favour of adult moderators being present).Obviously perverts need to be prevented from chatting to vulnerable people and punished accordingly if they try and abuse people, and there are laws in place for this, although improvements are still needed.People trick and deceive in "real life" chats as well as online chats. The people in online chats exist in "real life" too. It is important for people to be careful both in real life and online - don't let your guard down just because you happen to be talking to a stranger online rather than face to face!If you're talking to people you don't know, ALWAYS be cautious and don't get involved in anything you are uncomfortable with.Don't give away personal information to people you barely know, online or otherwise! Also, you say that people over the age of 18 should not be allowed into chats for TEENS...this seems somewhat unfair to 19 year olds!
